The Yale University Health Center Building is a LEED award winning building located on the campus of Yale University. The modern design and sharp angles required expert masonry and craftsmanship to achieve this stunning building.
The 143,000-square-foot facility provides updated facilities and expanded program and meeting space. It also includes a 323-space parking garage and a security substation. Among the medical enhancements is a state-of-the-art radiology imaging center.
The use of natural light is part of Yale HEALTH’s commitment to protect the environment and reduce electricity use. The new building will be LEED-certified, an internationally recognized award developed by the United States Green Building Council, of which Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam are both corporate members. Moreover, the building will be the first in Connecticut to receive the Green Guide for Health, a measure of sustainable construction and operation among healthcare facilities. The fourth floor incorporates an outdoor healing garden, and balconies and terrace plantings adorn the building.
